ELEGANT DAMASK AND GARDEN GREEN WEDDING

GREEN is the most talked about wedding color for SPRING 2013.  But you love black and white!  The elegance and formality of Damask speaks to you.
YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL.

Lovely Damask inserts on this ball gown show just a hint of the elegant event about to unfold.  Green Damask ties POP the fresh GREEN of Spring

The COLOR is in the DETAILS.  Choose accents that will pull your color into each layer of your look.  Wear this lovely white gown with minimal black damask and bring the green into your bouquet and groomsman.  The ring bearer's pillow continues the theme of Green, but is subtle.

If you choose a Black & White reception table setting...

add touches of green to your cake and favors.  Serve a signature green appletini and your splashes of color become important but won't compete

How will you accent the Elegance of DAMASK?

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW...

Whether you are planning a traditional wedding or something a little more avant garde, you may want to include a few of the age old traditions and customs.

So what does SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE, AND A SILVER SIXPENCE IN HER SHOE
mean and where did it come from?
So many customs began in Victorian England and some from the earliest of biblical times...

SOMETHING OLD represents the Bride's ties to her family and past.  A piece of jewelry from Mom, Grand mom or someone who has been a significant influence in your life is often worn.  Give it a special place of honor tucked into or wound through your bouquet.

SOMETHING BORROWED reminds the Brides that family and friends will always be there for her as she progresses through her new life.  Often this is a piece of jewelry but can be a vintage veil. hair accessory or Grandmother's handkerchief!

SOMETHING BLUE symbolizes faithfulness and loyalty.  In Biblical times, blue represented purity.  Traditionally, the "something blue" was a garter  Today, it could be your SHOES!

SILVER SIXPENCE IN HER SHOE...symbolizes a wealth of happiness and finances for the Bride's future.  This is a lesser know custom, but a shiny new penny tucked in your shoe, may just give you the edge on marital happiness.

Do any of these traditions resonate with you?  Will you incorporate one, two or all of them?
What's your twist on these time honored traditions?

Think of the memories you will create and maybe one day you will be that special someone that passes on the SOMETHING OLD.

VINTAGE NEVER GETS OLD

With the ever rising popularity of Downton Abbey, VINTAGE WEDDINGS are on the rise.
The look is soft, feminine and ever so romantic.  Lace, jewels, soft flowing fabrics create an aura of a more elegant and formal, but somehow a  simpler time.   Weddings were intimate affairs, celebrating this milestone event in a woman's life. And as it should be!
VINTAGE isn't limited to simple sweet romance...
From the  ROARING 20'S to the  ROCKIN' 50'S to the FLOWER CHILD of the 60'S and DISCO DANCIN' PARTIES of the 70'S. VINTAGE represents class, timeless fashion and attitude.  Think of the fun these past decades represent....freedom of thought, expression of your own personality, passions, hobbies and fun! Oh, and DANCING, something each decade had in common..So don't forget comfortable but fashionable statement shoes.

We all know a lovely pair of shoes changes our attitude about ourselves!
VINTAGE is a time, a place, a feeling, a vision that shows how you feel deep inside, it represents our innermost perceptions of who we are.  Your wedding day is the perfect day to share that vision with all of those you love. PLAY DRESS UP!  Were they not the most fun days of your childhood?  you could be anyone you wanted!  Recapture that feeling.

How romantic is this garden wedding?  Every venue should have a chandelier! Even a picnic!

Set an inviting and romantic table for you and your guests  Raid Grandmother's china cabinet for your personal place setting or go thrift shopping for beautiful mismatched china and silverware.  Easy DIY to really put your personality into it.  Then take it home with you.  Now, that's a memory!
